The lawyer Veteran John Davies de San Diego an adviser of confidence to the mayors and governors during decades was named at the district council of airport authority of the county of San Diego.
The Arnold Schwarzenegger government announced the appointment Wednesday several months after mayor Jerry Sanders de San Diego failing in its own offer to install Davies on the same council. The grinders nomination withdrew Davies’ due to the opposition among the members of the Council of city whose approval was required.
The governor chose Davies 75 to be used as representative of state on the council of nine-member who supervises Lindbergh Field and planning of aviation in the area.
Davies a republican was used on many panels of people of the country and state including the council of the University of California of the regents and legal adviser to the Governors Schwarzenegger and Peter Wilson.
The panel of airport meets at least once a month. The members of the council receive $200 by meeting for their service with a maximum of $1.600 per month.
According to the office of the governor the appointment does not require the confirmation of senate.
When the grinders called Davies last summer the personnel of the mayor raised the prospect that Davies would be also named chairman of the board substitute Alan Bersin. The national right gives to the mayor the right to name a chair without confirmation of council.
The preceding nomination of ponceuses’ as President was Bob Watkins which was named with a seat on the council by the county.
